Why colour acrylic

  • Colour all the way through

    The colour is cast into the sheet, not painted on, so cut edges match the face. It resists fading from light exposure.

  • Opaque, translucent or transparent

    Opaque blocks light. Translucent white lets some light through and is the sign-maker's choice for backlighting. Transparent tints show what's behind them, in colour.

  • Cast acrylic

    Cuts, drills, routes and engraves without melting, with hand tools or a laser. Polishes to a high lustre.

  • Screens vary

    Monitors and phones show colour differently, so the shade you receive can differ slightly from what you see online.

Questions, answered

What's the difference between opaque, translucent and transparent?

Opaque acrylic doesn't let light through. Translucent lets some light through and shows the shape of what's behind it, which is why it's used for backlit signs. Transparent is see-through, like tinted glass.

Will the colour fade outdoors?

The colour is cast through the sheet and resists changes from light exposure and temperature swings, indoors and out.

Why does my sheet look a little different from the photo?

Monitors and phones each show colour their own way, so the actual shade can vary slightly from what appears online.

Will I be charged customs or duties?

No. For orders shipping to the United States, the price you see is the delivered price: shipping, duties and import fees are included, and your parcel arrives with nothing to pay.

Can I get a colour that isn't listed?
